Whose account do my ads run from?

Yours. Connect an eligible Instagram professional account and SoundSpend can run supported advertising using your actual artist identity — people see you, not a promotion brand. This is subject to Meta's advertising policies, account eligibility and platform requirements.

Do I need a professional Instagram account?

Accepted Answer

Generally yes. We expect artists to need an eligible Instagram professional account — a Creator or Business account — for this functionality. Switching is free and takes a minute in the Instagram app. SoundSpend can't override Meta's eligibility or advertising requirements.

Do I need my own ad account?

Accepted Answer

No. You never touch Ads Manager. SoundSpend runs the advertising behind the scenes while your audience sees your artist identity.

What does it cost?

Accepted Answer

You pay your ad budget plus a SoundSpend management fee: 15% on your first $1,000 of ad spend in a calendar month, and 10% on any spend above that. There's no subscription, no setup fee and no management-fee cap. For example, $2,500 of ad spend in a month is $300 of management — $2,800 total.

Does the lower rate apply to my whole budget once I spend $1,000?

No. The first $1,000 each month is always billed at 15%; only spend above $1,000 receives the 10% rate. On $1,500 of monthly spend that's $150 + $100 = $250 of management.

Is there a setup or activation fee?

No. There's no setup fee, no activation fee and no subscription — only your ad spend plus management.

How small can a budget be?

Small budgets work — a single show or a first release can run on a modest spend. We show an honest estimate of what your money is likely to reach before you commit.

Do you guarantee streams or followers?

Accepted Answer

No, and be careful with anyone who does. We report exactly what we can measure: people reached, video views, page visits and taps through to your music or tickets.

Does this only work with Spotify?

Accepted Answer

No. Spotify is one option among many. You can send people to Apple Music, YouTube, your own website, a ticket page, a merch store or any other eligible link — and you can change the destination on every campaign.

Can I send traffic somewhere other than a music page?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Point a campaign straight at a URL, or use a SoundSpend page that shows several options and tells you which one fans actually picked.

What if nobody clicks through?

Accepted Answer

A click is valuable, but it isn't the only outcome. People can see your name, hear your song, watch your video, visit your profile or follow you — and where supported, that engagement can be used for future warm-audience advertising. We report what we can actually measure.

Are these bots or real people?

Accepted Answer

Real people, on Instagram and Facebook. Your ads run on the same advertising platform every major label uses.

What content do I need?

Accepted Answer

One video is enough. It can be an Instagram post you've already published, raw footage we cut for you, or a finished ad you upload.

Can I stop a campaign?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can pause anything that's running, and unspent budget stays unspent. Tour campaigns also stop themselves the day after each show.

What happens to my audience if I leave?

The people your campaigns build stay associated with your artist profile, and we'll tell you what we hold. We never sell or share your fan data.
